William “Mr. Bill” C. Irion, Sr., 69, of Nederland, Texas, died Thursday, August 20, 2015.
A native and lifelong resident of the area, he was born on January 30, 1946, in Port Arthur, Texas, to Cleo Harvey and Charles Wade Irion.
William spent his life serving others. He worked for the fire department, law enforcement, paramedic, and worked more than twenty years as a License Vocational Nurse before retiring. William was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church and Methodist Men’s Spirit Sunday School Class. He volunteered at Gentiva Hospice. William enjoyed fishing, boating, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn P. Irion; sons, Will Irion and his wife, Ashley and Preston Irion and his wife, Kathy and Charles Irion; daughters, Wendy Hawkins and her husband, Keith and Crystal Jones; step-son, Tom Pennington and his wife, Jamie; step-daughter, Jennifer Taylor and her husband, Mitchel; sister, Kay Hall and her husband, Les; brother, Andy Derese and his wife, Vicki; thirteen grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
