Gladys Dalby
November 28, 1934 - May 25, 2015

Gladys Hatcher Dalby, 80, on May 25, 2015, went to be with our Lord and her first born son John Hatcher Healy. She was born on November 28, 1934, in Sampson County, North Carolina, the fourth child of Gladys and Bernard Alderman.

She was raised in Four Oaks, North Carolina by her maternal uncle, John Thomas Hatcher, and his wife, Ruth Geddie Hatcher.

Gladys is survived by her husband of thirty five years, ...names of the living have been omitted per Find A Grave rules....

She was educated at Four Oaks, NC High School, the University of North Carolina (for her BA degree) and at the University of Maryland (for her MS in Library Science). She was a Reference Librarian in the Fairfax County Virginia, Public Library System for many years.

Gladys loved her gardening, reading and serving her Church (Alter Guild and Vestry member in Northern Virginia), as well as playing Bridge and the piano.

She was a member of the congregation of the King of Glory Lutheran Church (LCMS) in Williamsburg.

A memorial service is planned on June 19, 2015 at the Bucktrout Funeral Home, to be followed by a burial service at the Cedar Grove Cemetery, both in Williamsburg, Virginia. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the Morningside Assisted Living of Williamsburg and Personal Touch Hospice Services for their compassionate and professional care. The family will receive friends from 12:00pm till 1:00pm on June 19, 2015 at Bucktrout Funeral Home, located at 4124 Ironbound Rd., Williamsburg, VA. prior to the service.
