Elsie Virginia Farris, 80, of St. Marys passed away Thursday, Aug. 13, 2015, at her residence in St. Marys.

Mrs. Farris was born in Tompkinsville, Ky., Dec. 28, 1934, to the late Ottie Glen and Lora Elizabeth Butler Eubank. She had been a resident of St. Marys for the past 26 years, and was a member of Kingsland First Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and enjoyed quilting and gardening.

Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Robert L. Farris of St. Marys; two children, Dr. David M. Shull (Diane) of Hamilton, Ohio, and Lynnette Marie Coone (Don) of Gallipolis, Ohio; several stepchildren; four sisters, Marie Turner of Elizabethtown, Ky., Wilma Hepp of Radcliff, Ky., Clarissa Alvey (Dick) of Floyd Knobbs, Ind., and Anne Straney (Jerry), of Virginia Beach, Va.; a brother, Richard Eubank (Sylvia) of Radcliff, Ky.; four grandchildren, Jeremy G. Odom, Dr. Kristin P. Magner, David W. Shull and Austin B. James; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 16, at Allison Memorial Chapel in St. Marys, with Chaplain Pat McCord officiating. A visitation for family and friends was held from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, also at the funeral home.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Myron Dale Shull.

The family requests memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Farris be made to the American Cancer Society.
