Last rites will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the First Methodist Church for Dr. George H. Brown, 67, local dentist who died at 11:05 p.m. Saturday at his residence, 2440 Hazel Ave. Dr. Stewart Clendenin, pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery under the direction of Broussard Mortuary. Pallbearers will be L. Paul Tullos, O.H. Maschek, Dr. H.D. Harlan, Dr. J.I. Wilkins, Dr. A.J. Odom, Dr. T.A. Fears, M.E. Smith and Martin Wagner. Dr. Brown had practiced in Beaumont for many years. A native of Brenham, he had lived here for the past 50 years. He was a member of local, state, and national dental societies, a member of the First Methodist Church and of the Beaumont Country Club. For about six years he served on the Beaumont City Council. Surviving are his wife; and a niece, Mrs. J.F. Arthur of Arcadia, Calif.
