Calvin Combs, 90, resident of Fall River, Kansas and formerly of Wichita, Kansas, died Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at Meridian Rehabilitation and Health Care in Wichita. He was born March 1, 1925 in Central, Arizona, the son of Charles W. and Martha (Coombs) Combs. He served in the United States Navy, 1943-1946 attaining the rank of 2nd class boatswain mate. Calvin was employed by Rainbow Baking Company for 30 years, retiring in 1975. In 1976, he became a part owner of several Sonic Drive Ins.

On March 8, 1947 in Lordsburg, New Mexico, Calvin was united in marriage to Vivian LaVerne Brooks. She preceded him in death August 30, 2003.

Calvin was a member of the American Legion.

His survivors include:

One son;
One daughter

One Sister

Three Grandchildren

Adopted Grandchild

Four Great Grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Weakley Cemetery with Rev. Gene Benefiel of the Buxton Christian Church officiating.

Visitation will be held prior to the graveside, on Saturday, 9:30 A.M.-10:30 A.M. at the funeral home.
