Former Sandwich resident Vivian R. Coppi, age 91, died Sunday August 16 at the Royal Cape Cod Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Buzzards Bay.

Vivian was born on September 20, 1923 at the family home in Sandwich. She was the daughter of Pio and Adele (Molinari) Guidi. She attended school in Sandwich and graduated in 1941, and went on to attend and graduate from Cape Cod Secretarial School in Hyannis. After college Vivian earned a job at Camp Edwards as a secretary, then with the Coca Cola Plant in Sagamore, as well as working weekends as a waitress at the Daniel Webster Inn in Sandwich, where she met her future husband Hugo Coppi, of Sagamore.

Vivian was united in marriage to Hugo Coppi on July 3, 1948 at St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Sagamore. They had one daughter Sharon, who was born in 1950.

After the wedding, Vivian went to work for the Sandwich Co-operative Bank, She began as a teller for fifteen years, then was promoted to assistant treasurer, a position she held for twenty years until her retirement.

Vivian is survived by her daughter Sharon and her husband Bruce, two grandsons Chris, Jamie, and his his wife Jacey, and three beautiful great-grandchildren, Paxton, Desmond and Sarah, who were truly a joy to her. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews that she loved as if they were her own.

Calling hours with the family will be on Thursday August 20 for 10:00 until 11:00 AM at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd., Bourne,
MA 02532. A short service will follow the visitation at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery in Sandwich.

The family suggests memorial contribution be made in Vivian's name to the American Cancer Society.
