Esther was the daughter of William Tuttle and Phoebe Bradley. She moved with her parents to Meredith, NY in Otsego County when she was still a child. It was in Meredith where she met Lemuel Mallery, her future husband.

Esther moved to Partridge Island on the Delaware River, not far from Meredith. A few years later, the family moved to Hancock, NY and finally across the river to Pennsylvania to a small place called Ball's Eddy - about 3 miles south of Hancock along the west branch of the Delaware River.

Esther's brother William Tuttle also had moved to Hancock, along with his mother Phoebe (Bradley) Tuttle.

Esther, her mother Phoebe, and her brother William are all interred in the Riverview Cemetery in Hancock without markers according to the Riverview Cemetery burial records.

Lemuel and Esther had the following children:

1) Thomas Mallery (1811 - 1860) m. Chastina Dunham Belknap
2) John Sherman Mallery (1814-1857) m. Elizabeth Hall
3) Phoebe Esther Mallery (1815-1856) m. Solomon Coach
4) Lydia Ann Mallery (1824-1887) m. William Stoddard
5) Malvina Mallery (ca 1820-died in childbirth) m. (Solomon?) Hinkley
6) Sarah Mallery (?-?) m. William Salisbury

(there were likely more children, but these are the ones for which there are records.
