R.F. Addington,61,Dies Suddenly In Hospital Today

The victim of a heart attack, Rufus Fount Addington, 61 2920 Henry Street, well known Greenville cotton broker and prominent Hunt countian, died suddenly at 5 o’clock this morning in a local hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 4 o’clock Tuesday afternoon at the James-Coker-Peters Chapel. Rev. Boyd I. DeVore will officiate and interment will be in Forest Park.

Pallbearers will be M.V. Braselton, Paul Fagala, Leo Neal, R.L. Warren, Dr. H.W. Maier, Greenville, and J.U. Easterling of Dallas.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Board of Stewards of Wesley Methodist Church, Dr. E.P. Goode of Waco, A. Owens, Billy Felder and Fred Harper of Dallas.

The body will rest at the funeral home until the hour for the service.

Native of County

Born at Kingston, Texas March 23, 1888, Mr. Addington was the son of Walter Addington and Beulah Eason Addington. At the age of ten years Mr. Addington moved with his parents to Quinlan where he attended school. He later completed his school work in Commerce.

He has been associated with the H.L. Edwards & Company cotton shippers, working in Greenville and Dallas, for the past several years. Mr. Addington had been a member of the Methodist Church since early manhood and at the time of his death was a member of the Board of Stewards of Wesley Methodist.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs Lalla Grant Addington, four sons, Don Addington, Greenville, William Addington, Greenville, Fred and Frank Addington, Dallas, one daughter, Mrs. Mary King, Dallas, stepmother, Mrs. Beulah Addington, Greenville, sisters, Mrs. O.M. Jackson, Los Angeles, California, Miss Inez Addington, Greenville, two brothers, Wyman Addington, Dallas and Garland Addington, Los Angeles.

R.F. (Fount) Addington, 61, prominent cotton broker and a native of Hunt county, died Monday morning at 5 o'clock in a local hospital. Death was attributed to a heart attack.

Last rites will be observed this afternoon at 4 o'clock from the James-Coker-Peters Chapel, with Rev. Boyd I. DeVore and Rev. Joseph M. Connally officiating. Burial will be in Forest Park.

Starting in the cotton business in Greenville when a young man, Mr. Addington was connected with the H.L. Edwards & Company for many years, working both in Greenville and Dallas. For several years he had been local representative for W.D. Felder Company, cotton merchants.

Mr. Addington united with the Methodist church early in life and was a member of Wesley church at the time of his death. He was a member of the Board of Stewards of that church.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Lalla Grant Addington; four sons, Dan and William Addington of Greenville and Fred and Frank Addington of Dallas; a daughter, Mrs. Mary King of Dallas; stepmother, Mrs. Beulah Addington of this city; two brothers and two sisters, Wyman Addington of Dallas, Garland Addington of Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. O.M. Jackson, also of Los Angeles, and Miss Inez Addington of Greenville.
