Found in the Florence Morning News 22 June 1971: Mrs. Daisy Hatchell Isgett Smoots, 79, of 2505 Vance Dr., died Monday in a Florence hospital after a lingering illness. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Stoudemire Funeral Home. Mrs. Smoots was born in Florence County and was a daughter of the late Eli and Lebanon Burkett Hatchell. She had lived in Florence County all of her life and was a member of the Free Will Baptist Bible Church of Florence. She was twice married, her first husband was the late S. A. Isgett and her second husband was the late W. W. Smoots. Surviving are two sons, James Edward Isgett and Herbert Wilson Isgett, both of Florence; one daughter, Mrs. W. L. (Lois Marie) Evans of Florence; also 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Friends may call on the family at the residence of her son, Herbert Wilson Isgett of 2201 Vance Drive.

Norwood Gibson, the Rev. Monroe Harrell, and the Rev. Wayne Miller. Burial will be in the Tabernacle Methodist Church Cemetery, directed by Stoudemire Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Paul Isgett, Tommy Isgett, Jimmy Isgett, Samuel Evans, Lawton Evans and David Evans. Mrs. Smoots died Monday in a Florence Hospital after a lingering illness. The body will remain at Stoudemire Funeral Home and will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service.
