Mrs. Miller was born July 25, 1932 in the Grove Hill area of Page County and was the daughter of the late Paul Albert and Zethel Marie Weaver May. In addition to her parents, Kathleen was preceded in death by an infant son, Larry Paul Miller; a brother, Buddy Leroy May; and two sisters, Juanita Collier and Betty Jean Austin.
Mrs. Miller was a graduate of Shenandoah High School. On September 7, 1951 she married Lawrence "Buddy" V. Miller, who survives. Kathleen and her husband owned and operated Carol's Flower Box in Shenandoah for many years. She was a member of the St. Peter's United Methodist Church and was active in the Ladies Aide. She loved trout fishing, playing bingo and hunting mountain mushrooms.
In addition to her husband, Kathleen is survived by a brother, Paul R. May, and wife, Janice of Shenandoah; a sister Joann Foltz of Elkton; special nephews, Greg Austin, and wife, Beth of Shenandoah and Wayne Austin, and wife, Sandra of Madison, Va; numerous nieces and nephews; a special great niece, Kim King, and husband, Mike, and their daughter Cara; two special great nephews, Tyler Austin, and wife, Casey, and Benjamin Austin.
A graveside service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens in Harrisonburg with Rev. Rick Robertson officiating. The casket will remain closed.
In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to St. Peter's United Methodist Church, 6439 East Point Road, Elkton Va 22827 and Shenandoah Rescue Squad 544 4th Street, Shenandoah, Va 22849.
