A 1995 graduate of Fairbanks High School, she was an absolute joy in everyone’s life who knew her. She surrounded herself with many close friends and valued the close relationship with her entire family as well as her friends. Janel was so much fun to be around because of her quick wit and upbeat personality. She loved her many trips and the time spent in the Smoky Mountains.
She was born January 15, 1977 in Marysville to David R. and Deborah A. Johnson Nicol. Janel was preceded in death by her grandparents, Harry & Elverna Nicol, Harry’s second wife Alice, and Harold and Betty Johnson; aunts and uncles, Dick & Patty Johnson, Sandy Johnson; and a cousin Jamie Nicol.
Janel is survived by her parents Dave and Deb Nicol; her sister and brother-in-law, Jody and Jason Geer of Marysville; aunts & uncles, Joyce and Cliff Baughman of St. Paris, Carol and Dick Tillman of Marysville, Mark & Connie Nicol of Irwin, Jane Nicol of Marysville, Ron and Betty Johnson of West Mansfield, Bruce and Karen Johnson of Raymond; numerous cousins and good friends especially her carpool buddy.
Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4-8pm at the Ingram Funeral Home where funeral services will be held at 11am Thursday with Rev. Jack Knox officiating. Burial will follow at the Milford Center Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Friends of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park or the Union County Humane Society in care of the funeral home.
