Arriving in Connecticut she set up her own consulting business and worked with law firms and banks in Connecticut and Rhode Island for 17 years. Due to illness she was forced to retire at the age of 79.

Loretta was an avid traveler. Her adventures included many trips all over the US, Europe, Mexico, Panama and Cuba. A life changing trip to a leper colony in Carville Louisiana with her Aunt Frances in 1939 was one of her fondest travel stories.

Loretta was a parishioner of St. Agnes Church where she was was a member of the Choir, Finance Committee, CCD, Women's Club and various other committees during her time in Niantic. Loretta also volunteered at York Correctional Facility tutoring inmates.
