Dr. Saunders returned from Johnson's Bayou Monday evening, whither he had been called to see a little son of Mr. J. B. Pevato, who had been taken suddenly with lockjaw, caused from running the thorn of an orange tree into his foot. Mrs. Pevato was in Orange at the time on a visit. They started down on the tug S. V. Stowe, but were delayed by the boat getting on the bar, and did not reach their destination until after the child had died. The bereaved family have the sympathy of many friends.
