BEDFORD - Raymond "Lippy" De Rocher, 76, passed away suddenly at his home on Aug. 6, 2015, with his wife of 51 years and best friend at his side.

Born Jan. 20, 1939, to James and Hazel (Cronin) De Rocher in Nashua, he had lived in Bedford for the past 51 years.

Lippy graduated from Bishop Bradley (Trinity) High School in 1956 and was to be inducted into their Hall of Fame this November. He graduated from Keene State College in 1964 and was inducted into their Hall of Fame in 2013. He taught English and coached baseball at Goffstown High School and was inducted into the Goffstown Hall of Fame in 2014. He held many baseball records from Little League to Legion to college, but he was proudest of the winning teams he coached at Goffstown High School. He received the Union Leader Hero Award in 1965 for jumping into the Merrimack River to rescue a man who had jumped off the Queen City Bridge. In 1975, because of their interest in antiques and auction experience with William Smith Co., Lippy and Bette opened the Lippy De Rocher Co., specializing in auctions and appraisals.

Lippy had a great sense of humor which his many friends and colleagues will attest to.

He was predeceased by his parents and two brothers, Dr. James De Rocher in 2008 and Robert De Rocher in 2004. He is survived by his wife, Bette, with whom he enjoyed 51 years of love, friendship and common interests. He had five nephews and three nieces as well as many close friends.

SERVICES: There will be no calling hours. A funeral celebration will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 12, at 10 a.m., at the Abbey at St. Anselm College, 100 St. Anselm Drive, Manchester. Burial will be private at a later date in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Hudson.
