BARGERSVILLE ~ Alfred Matheny, after a lingering illness of several months of consumption, died at his home in Bargersville, on Saturday morning, April 5th, 1890, aged twenty-five years. The funeral services were held in the Christian church in Bargersville on Sunday at 10 o'clock a.m., conducted by Rev. Wiant, of the United Brethren church. The remains were interred in the cemetery here. The deceased united with the Christian church at this place about four years ago, and afterwards, became a member of the United Brethren church at Bethel.
