Warren G. Salisbury was the youngest child of Eleazer L. Salisbury and Beersheba Jenney and named for Eleazer's brother. Not much is known of Warren's early childhood except that his mother died shortly after his birth, and it appears that his father left Huron County after 17 March 1829. In 1850, Warren was living with his first cousin, John Jenney, Jr. the son of Mordecai Jenney and Isabella Salisbury, in Greenwich Twp. Thus, it is possible that he and his siblings were raised by Jenney and Salisbury family members in Huron County.

Warren left bequests in his will of 5 June 1857 to Henrietta Bartlett, daughter of Joseph Bartlett and first wife, Ann; and Edward Gifford, husband of Warren's sister Almira. The remainder went to Franklin Salisbury.

The transcription on his tombstone in Jenney Farm Cemetery reads Warren G. Salisbury son of Eleazer and Beersheba Salisbury d. 1 Jul 1857 aged 29 y 1 m 14 d. Footstone is W.G.S.
