PARAGOULD — Clarence Stevenson, 98, of Paragould died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2003.

He was born Feb. 18, 1905, in Paragould. He was a farmer, a former one-room school teacher and a long-time member of Campground Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Long Stevenson; his parents, U.B. and Maude Reynolds Stevenson; three sons, James Harold Stevenson, Charles Robert Stevenson and Clarence Winifred Stevenson; two brothers, Donald Stevenson and Leon Stevenson; and four sisters, Sylvia Noel Stevenson, Ruth Cooper, Clarice Walden and Vera Blalock.

Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Betty Jo and Jim McKelvey of Morton, Ill., and Dortha Jean Ballentine of St. Louis, Mo.; one daughter-in-law, Dorothy Fay Wood Stevenson; many nieces and nephews; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral was Friday at Ortmann Funeral Home in Overland, Mo. Burial was in Laurel Hill under the direction of Ortmann Funeral Home of Overland, Mo.

Memorials may be made to Mercy Hospice, 10805 Sunset Office Drive, St. Louis, MO 63127.

Visitation was Thursday at the funeral home.
