John was born August 16, 1931. John was a Christian, loving husband, father, and Pa Paw.
He retired after 40 years of service with the Fort Worth Police Department. He loved working on his land, doing word search and most of all spending time with his family and grandkids, whom he loved and was so proud of. The family would like to thank Amber and Doug of Texas Cardiac Care and also Vitas Hospice. John was very courageous and fought a good fight. He kept his faith through it all as he has done throughout his life.
John was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Minnie Whitener, brother Wilmer, and sister Annie Lee "Mickey" Crawley.
Survivors: Loving Wife of 48 years Helen; son, Jeffery and wife Stephanie; daughter, Cindy; grandchildren, Bailee and Jaxon; and many other loving family members and friends.
