Graveside services for Ivy Esther Bride Yates of Yamhill were held today in Pike Cemetery, Yamhill, with the Rev. Bob Kuykendall officiating.
Mrs. Yates died April 20, 1991, in the Sheridan Care Center. She was 80.
She was born Sept. 23, 1910, in Coalinga, Calif., the daughter of David and Ella Evanson Bride. She moved to the Yamhill area with her family when she was a child. She attended Pike School and was graduated from Yamhill High School in 1929.
She briefly attended Monmouth Normal School and St. Vincent School of Nursing.
She and Henry E. Yates were married March 5, 1935, in Yamhill. He preceded her in death.
On March 1, 1967, Mrs. Yates received a degree from the Forest Grove School of Practical Nursing. She worked as a pediatric licensed nurse at St. Vincent Hospital for 15 years. After retiring, she worked as certified nurse in the Sheridan Care Center.
She enjoyed gardening and being outdoors. She moved into the care center four years ago.
Survivors include her son, Don Yates of Grand Ronde; her brother, Cliff Bride of Sheridan; and two grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
Arrangements are under the directions of Macy & Son Funeral Directors, McMinnville.
