Ted Blanchard, age 82, of New Smyrna Beach, retired owner and operator of Aerotec, a machine shop in New Smyrna Beach, died Thursday, August 5, 2015.

Born in Dearborn, Michigan, Ted came to this area in 1980 from Westland, Michigan. An Army veteran of the Korean Era, Ted was a member of Smyrna Yacht Club; the New Smyrna Beach Municipal Golf Course, where he regularly played four days a week; and was a former member of Edgewater-New Smyrna Beach Elks Lodge 1557.

Survivors include his wife, Elaine; two sons, Rick of Milford, Michigan, and Ron (Lori) of Wayne, Michigan; a daughter, Karen (Rick) Howell of Edgewater; a step-daughter, Susan (Carl) Persis of Ormond Beach; ten grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy, in 1998.

A celebration of Ted’s life will be 3:00 p.m. Friday, August 7 at the Settle-Wilder New Smyrna Beach Chapel, with Chaplain Mark Spivey officiating. Private entombment will follow in All Faiths Mausoleum at Sea Pines Memorial Gardens, Edgewater.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Halifax Health Hospice, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129.
Ted was preceded in death by his wife Peggy Downing they had three children. Rick,Ron, and Karen (Blanchard) Howell.
Ted was the son of Frank and Anna Blanchard. He had four siblings Vernon,Shirley(Blanchard) Holland,sharon(Blanchard) Combs, And Larry
