Springfield-"Grandma" Frances M. Carnduff, 92 of Springfield died March 11, 2005, at Memorial Medical Center.
She was born May 7, 1912, in Cazenovia, the daughter of Wallace A. and Hulda P. Herron Robertson. She married Edward F. "Bunny" Carnduff in 1936 in Springfield; he died in 1975. a daughter, May F. Zulz, also preceded her in death. Mrs. Carnduff attended high school in Metamora and graduated from peoria Manual High School in1930. She was a waitess at Fireside, Orchard Lounge and Supper Club and owned and operated Oasis Tavern and Restaument.
She worked at Central BaptistChildren's House for 17 years. She was the subject of a Heartland magazine story in 2002 for her role there as "Grandma" Frances, in cluding making blankets for all the infants.
She was a mamber of First Christian Church. Survivors: two sons, Robert E. (wife,Kathy) Carnduff of Chathamand Michael W.(wife,Kathy)Carnduff of Pleasant Plains; 10 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; sister, Hope Benson of Lostant; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services: 10 a.m. Monday, Oak Ridge Cemetery, the Rev. Rick Irwin and Dr. Reginald S. Mills officiating.
Vancil Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
