Sylvania – Wanda Bazemore Austin, age 71, passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2015, at St. Joseph Hospital in Savannah. She was born in Screven County, to the late Henry F. Bazemore, Sr. and Louise Stafford Daughtry. She was a dedicated nurse for over 30 years until her retirement and was of Baptist faith. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Survivors: Daughter: Melanie A. Loper of Sylvania; Sons and Daughter-In-Law: Rex A. & Anna J. Austin of Sylvania and John Tracy Austin of Newington; Brothers and Sisters-In-Law: Rev. Henry F., Jr. & Laverne Bazemore of Sylvania and Mike Bazemore & Malissa Gay of Statesboro; 10 Grandchildren; 2 Great-Grandchildren; Several Nieces and Nephews.
Visitation: Friday, August 7, 2015 at 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home.
Funeral Services: Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Henry Bazemore, Jr. officiating. Burial following at Middle Ground Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Doug Rudd, Alton Suggs, Keith Rice, Bill Hodges, Ronnie Colson, Lane Hodges and Joel Moats.
