Early Life: Lucille was born June 13, 1920, in Palmyra, Utah, to Carl Andrew and Stella May Byrne Carlson. Lucille attended school in Provo, Utah. She was a graduate of the Maeser Grade School, Farrer Jr. High and Provo High School.
Life’s Work | Service | Interests: She met her future husband, James Charles "J.C." Evans, while growing up in Provo. They were married 65 years. He passed away in 2005. Lucille was a product of the Great Depression and learned to “make do” with very little. Her family was her proudest accomplishment. She loved them without reservation and would do anything for them. Lucille was an excellent seamstress and cook. She loved to crochet and made beautiful afghans for many in her family. Lucille worked hard for everything she had. She worked alongside J.C. building two beautiful homes. She had excellent taste in decorating and clothing. She was down to earth and yet very intelligent and had an uncanny mechanical ability. It was important to her to remain independent, which she did, living in her own home until she was 94½. Lucille loved her grandchildren and they loved spending time with “Mountain Grandma”. Lucille Mae Carlson Evans passed away August 3, 2015, in St. George, Utah. She was 95.
Survived By: Her two daughters: DeAnn Burnham (Jeff), of Tucson, AZ; and Judy Hall (Jon), of St. George, UT; five grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Preceded In Death By: Her husband, her parents, a great-grandson, three brothers and two sisters.
