In 1900, he, Fannie, and John W. Boustead, Sr. are living in Kansas. The next two sons were born in Michigan, then, he deposited his family in Iowa shortly after 1903 and deserted his wife leaving her with the 3 small sons. Their 1st child, a 5 month old baby daughter had died in 1892. I don't believe he remarried but if he did, he divorced them, as the 1930 and 1940 censuses say he's divorced.
After he was gone awhile, he started sending his children and grandchildren a fish, probably a salmon, from Washington at Christmastime.
