Kelvin Dee “Kelly” Timms, 88 of Mount Pleasant, UT passed away August 3, 2015 in Nephi, UT. He was born March 6, 1927 in Roosevelt, UT to William Robert and Grace Kisty Nelson Timms.

Kelly was raised in Los Angeles, CA and at a young age was a dance instructor and gymnast. He enjoyed dancing to the Tommy Dorsey and Glenn Miller Bands live on the Santa Monica Pier. Kelly was an accomplished pianist, organist and published composer, all by ear. At age 18 he circled the globe as a radio officer in the Merchant Marines during WWII. He joined the LA County Fire Dept in 1949 and retired after being injured and disabled in the Malibu Fires of 1973. As a fire fighter he was the infamous “Smokey Bear” for LA County and taught CPR. Kelly was a licensed Landscape Grader/Contractor and had designs published in Better Home and Gardens. One of his many talents was designing and building homes. He owned and operated a mobile X-Ray business and was an X-Ray Technician. Kelly was a licensed private pilot. He was also a licensed realtor and co-owned Cedar West Realty in Mount Pleasant, UT. He owned the Fairview Inn which is now the Home Plate in Fairview, UT.

He met Dorothy Maryarline Waddle at a church dance and it was love at first site. They were married Feb 12, 1949 in Mesa, AZ LDS Temple and raised their 7 children and foster daughter in the Los Angeles area and Moroni, UT. Dorothy passed away Sept 25, 1995. He then met Delores Ruth Waldo at a dance and they were married Feb 11, 1997 in Manti, UT and she passed away Sept 7, 2001 in Mt. Pleasant, UT. Then he met Teresa Beth Brower at a church dance and they eloped 4 ½ weeks after on Nov 5, 2002 and were sealed in the Manti Temple May 15, 2004.

Kelly is survived by his wife, Teresa, Mt. Pleasant, UT; children, Linda Susan Kendall, Mona, UT; Lori Shaye (Glen) Collyer, La Canada, CA; Robert Paul Timms, Mt. Pleasant, UT; Julie Anne (David) Shepherd, Manti, UT; Shelly Denise (Tony) Bowers, Pleasant Grove, UT; Josie (Joe) Lund, Chino Hills, CA; siblings, Robert Charles Timms (Bettye Reid), Prescott Valley, AZ; Dixie Renee (David) Harvey, Pleasant Grove, UT; 21 grandchildren and 44 great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents, 2 wives, brothers, William Alton Timms, Ronald Avery Timms, LaDell E. Timms; son, Dennis Kelly Timms; daughter, Sandra Lee Timms; granddaughter, Tauney Rene Jocelyn; great grandson, Set Whitehouse Lewis.

Funeral services Thursday August 6, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. in the Mt. Pleasant N. Stake Center (300 W 500 N). Friends may call Thursday from 9:30-10:15 a.m. at the church prior to services.
