At the time the evening chores were being done, Glenn and his younger brother led two colts out from the barn to water them. One of the colts kicked, striking the lad in the stomach.
The funeral was held Tuesday forenoon at Mt. Pleasant, near the home. Glenn lacked just a month of being 12 years old. The father drives a cream wagon for Schlosser Bros. and is quite well known in Bremen. The family has the sympathy of the entire community in their great sorrow.
Obituary
Glenn Edward, son of Aaron and Ida Alderfer, was born on February 18, 1902, and died at his home where he had spent his entire life. December 13, 1913, aged 11 years, 9 months, and 25 days.
He leaves to mourn his death, besides the parents, four brothers, Gilbert, William, Floyd, and Russel.
Glen, as we all loved to call him, was a lovely child, ever meeting you with a smile which made it a pleasure to know him. He was loved by his teacher and all his schoolmates, who with the entire community are grieved to learn of the loss of our loved one.
