Maurine Gotcher Smith, age 82, of Hickory Creek, passed away Saturday, August 1, 2015, in Denton.
She was born July 11, 1933 in Denton County to Murray Linder Gotcher and Mary Ellen Pollock Gotcher. Maurine married Jesse James Smith on November 1, 1952 in Gainesville, Texas. He preceded her in death in April 1999. Maurine was a member of First Baptist Church in Lake Dallas and retired as Tax Assessor Collector for the City of Highland Village.
She is survived by her children; Vicki Land and husband, Mark, Timothy Smith and wife, Dorothy and Laurie Johnson and husband, Brad; eleven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; brothers, Morris Gotcher and wife, Sherry and Glen Gotcher and wife, Sherri and many extended family members.
