GEORGE BORDEN, 90

George Borden, 90, 423 W. Main St., Greensburg, died Friday, Aug. 14, 1987, at his residence.

He was born April 24, 1897, in Shelby County, the son of Aaron and Mary Cayton Borden. He worked at the Star Sale Barn. His first wife, Mabel Curry Borden, preceded him in death.

He married Edna Dolan July 16, 1941, in Kentucky, and she preceded him in death Aug. 6, 1982. He is survived by one son, Merritt Borden, Fairland; four daughters: Mrs. John (Lola) Baush, Indianapolis, Mrs. Otis (Josephine) Alexander, Fairland, Mrs. Jim (Frances) Destain, Lawrence, and Georgia Bishop, Greensburg; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Two brothers: Earl and Ora Borden, and two sisters: Bessie Thompson and Emma Barnett, preceded him in death.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home, with the Rev. Robert Browning officiating.

Burial will be in the New Palestine Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday.
