Sweetwater - Funeral services for William E. Ausburne, Sr., 55, who died in McCloskey Veterans Hospital at Temple on Sunday, will be held in Wells Funeral Home Chapel this afternoon at 4 o'clock. Graveside military rites in Sweetwater Cemetery will be conducted by McDonal-Hagar Post of the American Legion.
Born in Denison, Mr. Ausburne had lived in Sweetwater since 1936. He had been employed by the U.S. Gypsum Co. and was a veteran of World War I, serving in France with the 90th Division in seven major engagements.
Survivors are his widow; six sons, W. E. (George), Jr., Nolan County Veterans Service Officer, Harris L. of Abilene, James B., Gene S., Billy and Bobby, all of Sweetwater; three daughters, Mrs. Mary Kingston of Roscoe, Mrs. Frances McDonald and Betty Jane Ausburne of Sweetwater; two brothers, Mann Ausburne of Terrell and Dan Ausburne of Little Rock, Ark.; a sister, Mrs. Delia Lawrence of Borger; and four grandchildren.
