She was born in Minnesota on November 23, 1927. In 1949 she moved to Easton, Washington, where she met David and married on June 18, 1950. She resided in Easton while David served in Korea. After his return from the service they moved to Everett where she resided for 50 years. Vonnie devoted her life to her husband and children. In 1968, Vonnie became a bus driver for the Mukilteo School District, driving many children safely to school for over 12 years.
Vonnie is survived by her husband, David Darling; daughter, Lynn Darling and her husband, John Burns, her daughter Patricia Strong and her husband Bob Strong; son, Joe Darling and his wife, Lona Darling; grandchildren Joseph Crider, Shanna and Chris Mullenbach, Kristopher Crider, Jennifer Ervin, Landon Williams, Amy Williams, Nickie Darling, Seth Darling, and Andrew Darling; two great-grandchildren, Mikel Ervin and Ashlyn Williams.
Graveside services will be held Friday, October 22, 2004 at 1:00pm at the Cle Elum Cemetery.
