Earl Chester Galey, 73, dies at 8:20 AM Friday, Nov. 12, 1999, in the Lafayette Home Hospital emergency room. He had been in ill-health the past five years. Born Sept.29, 1926, at Frankfort, he attended Frankfort schools. On Sept. 2, 1979, he married Darlene Schley in Lafayette; she survives.

Mr. Galey, who had lived in Lafayette since 1989. He had also lived at Fort Smith, AR, and Oklahoma City, OK. He was a power plant engineer for Indiana Veterans Home for eight years, and prior to that he worked at the Caterpillar plant at Oklahoma City. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in West Lafayette, a life member of American Legion Post 492, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1154, and Disabled American Veterans.

Surviving with his wife are three sons, Earl C. Galey, Jr., Jason Galey and Jeffrey Galey, all of Lafayette; and six grandchildren. Preceded in death by a brother and sister.
