Vira C. Petty, 88, of Pittsburg, Texas, passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2006, in a Dangerfield Nursing Home. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m., Monday, July 24, at Waco Memorial Park with the Rev. Jimmie Spann officiating, under the direction of Bellmead Funeral Home.
Vira Cygale was born in Gatesville, Texas, to the late Henry Irvin and Maggie Lillian (Schley) Franks. On May 21, 1937, she married Robert "Bob" Petty in Gatesville. Vira was a lifetime member of Waco Memorial Baptist Church, was an avid bowler, and past president and member of Waco PTA.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
Survivors include her daughter, Lou White and husband, Cary, of Pittsburg, Texas; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
