Widow of Civil War Veterans Dies Sunday
Mrs. Ella N. Orr, 77, of 205 South Adella street, died Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at her home.
The daughter of Adolph and Rebecca Batterson, she was born March 10, 1871, at Eldon but had been a resident of Ottumwa most of her life.
Mrs. Orr is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Edna Steinkopf of Ottumwa; two grandchildren, Helen and Dorothy Steinkopf, both of Ottumwa; two brothers, W.A. Batterson and Bud Batterson, both of Ottumwa.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. at the Johnson funeral chapel in charge of the Rev. Everett R. Major of the Willard Street Methodist church. Burial will be in Shaul cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ralph Watson, Max Lambert, Vern Lambert, Jesse Walden, Charles Carr and Russell Batterson.
