CLARENCE COULTER
CROOKSVILLE - Clarence Coulter, 88, a former Crooksville resident, died Monday (Jan. 30) at Whitmar Nursing Home in Whittier, Calif., where he had been a patient three weeks.
He was born in Morgan County, Dec. 15, 1878, a son of Hazen and Frances Mcquinn Coulter. He was a member of Crooksville Methodist Church and Peerless Lodge 591, F&AM.
Mr. Coulter was a former Perry County recorder and postmaster in Crooksville for several years.
He moved to Cleveland to live with a daughter after the death of his wife, Addie Brown Coulter, and was employed as a night desk clerk in a hotel. After retirement he moved to Whittier, Calif., to live with another daughter.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. W.O. (Zeta) Winslow of Cleveland, Mrs. Robert (Pearl) Ford of Denver, Colo., and Mrs. J.W. (Helen) Snowdon of Whittier, Calif.; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Blanche Gardner of 915 Moxahala Avenue, Zanesville.
The body will be cremated and the ashes will be sent to Crooksville for burial. Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in First Methodist Church here with Rev. Earse Mauler Jr. officiating.
