For years each morning "Ducky" Beynon and my father Albert Deston road together in my father's car from Swansea, MA to work in Fall River, Massachusetts. Both my father and Mr. Beynon worked at the Fall River, MA Firestone Tire and Rubber Company complex located on Water Street (The building was purchased in 1937 from the American Printing Company). Mr Beynon and family lived on Church Street, Swansea about a three minute drive north along Gardners Neck Road from our family home at 46 Lawrence St., Swansea. His home was the second house on the left as you went up Church Street to Gardner School.

According to my father during World War II he and Mr. Beynon assisted in various white collar capacities at the Fall River Firestone plant where during World war II they manufactured rubber gas masks and repaired barrage balloons under contract with the US Government.

For a number of years Mr. Beynon coached and managed the Town of Swansea's Little League Yankees team. According to my father Mr. Beynon in his earlier years had been on a professional baseball team below the AAA level. My father told me that it was during those early professional baseball years that Mr. Beynon earned the nick name "Ducky".

During the year 1964 to 1965, I was a freshman at the Fall River Campus of what is now UMASS Dartmouth. On a few occasions I road home with the two of them. During those times I found Mr. Beynon to be a quiet, but friendly person.
