Phyllis Kearl Belnap passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 in Tallahassee, FL. She was 85. She was born on November 11, 1929 in Paris, Idaho and raised in both Preston, Idaho and Mount Clemens, Michigan.
She is survived by her 6 children, 27 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren.
After earning her Bachelor's degree at Brigham Young University she taught for a year in UT. She worked as a county agent in New York State where she taught home economic strategies in the Albany area.
It was while she was there she met and married Bruce Earl Belnap. Phyllis was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had many service opportunities. She was in Israel with her husband Bruce while they were serving in the Jerusalem Center for Near Eastern Studies. As part of a couple missionary companionship, she served with her husband at the visitor's center at the Washington, D.C. temple.
Phyllis also served as a temple matron and temple worker alongside her husband in the Orlando, FL. LDS Temple. Memorial services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3717 Thomasville Rd,Tallahassee, FL on Monday, August 3rd at 11:00 am. Todd Wahlquist with Bevis Funeral Home is assisting the family with their arrangements.
