Mrs. Bessie Brown McGuire, 99, of Boone, died Friday morning, February 25 at her home.
She was born in Todd, to John Sherman and Cora D. Blackburn Brown. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Boone.
Survivors include two sons, three daughters, one sister, 20 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Jonathan McGuire; one daughter, Jean McGuire; one son, Howard McGuire, three brothers and four sisters.
Services were Monday afternoon at Austin & Barnes Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Dr. Steven C. Carrecker. Burial followed in Mount Lawn Memorial Park and Gardens.
Austin & Barnes Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
