Albert Bernard Collver, Sr. was born in Merritt Twp. on June 7, 1925 to the late Daniel and Gertrude (Anderson) Collver. He passed away in Bay City on July 21, 2015. Butch, a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, was a longtime member of the former Munger Presbyterian Church. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of the AmVets Post 22 in Essexville and the V.F.W. He was employed as an electrical engineer at Defoe Ship Building Co. and later at Baker-Perkins until his retirement.

He married the former Jane Ellen Cregar on June 24, 1947 and she preceded him in death on November 26, 2005. He is survived by 4 children, 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, a great- great grandson and a special lifetime friend. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter Gina Collver, 2 brothers John and Daniel and a sister Mildred Smith.

Private burial will be at Floral Gardens Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Thursday, July 23, 2015 from 3 to 8 p.m. at Penzien-Steele Funeral Home. He will lie in state at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until service time. Memorial tributes may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church or a charity of the donor's choice.
