She was the daughter of John and Annis Hatley Smith, both buried in Old Hickory Flat Cemetery in Benton County, Mississippi.
Sallie was mother to several children, namely my G-G-Grandmother Margaret Arietta Thompson Simpson (Etta), who is buried in Old Hickory Flat Cemetery in Benton County, Mississippi along with more family members. I'm not sure what became of Arch - but Sallie, with her daughter and son-in-law, Etta Thompson & James R. Simpson, (along with some of her other children), lived in Lamar Co. TX for about a decade before Etta with her own children moved back to Mississippi, and married James' brother, Thomas. Whatever became of James R. Simpson in Lamar County is a mystery. Sallie Thompson, however, remained in Lamar Co., TX with three other daughters: Martha J. Thompson Cross, Sallie C. Thompson Perkins, Lucinda A. Thompson Aston.
