A Mass of Christian Burial was held in St. Jules Catholic Church for Rufus J. Alleman, 65, who died Oct. 10, 1995 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center. Interment followed at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Scott.

A native and lifelong resident of Lafayette, Mr. Alleman was a veteran of military service, having served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict.

Prior to his retirement, Mr. Alleman was employed by the Lafayette Parish School Board with seven years of service. He previously worked with Davidson LA, Inc. for 36 years.
He was a member of the St. Jules Catholic Community and was a former member of the American Legions, Woodmen of the World and the Pinhook Rotary Club.

He was survived by his wife, Betty Sonnier Alleman; his parents, Antoine “Tony” Alleman and Emelina Bowers Alleman; along with two daughters, one son and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Arthur and Marie Schexneider Alleman; and by his maternal grandparents, Gustave and Marie Miques Bowers.
