Allison, Dr. Sylvester A. Allison died at his home near Roosevelt, Oklahoma, Friday morning about seven o'clock. Dr. Allison had been very ill for several months and his death was not unexpected.

Dr. Allison was one of the best known men in Cowley county, having been a veterinarian in Winfield almost thirty years before going to Oklahoma about four years ago. He was born in Decatur, Illinois 71 years ago and came to Cowley county in 1870, taking a claim near Dexter, where he lived for many years before coming to Winfield. He was a graduate of Ontario Veterinary College of Toronto, Canada.

Dr. Allison was always an optimist and looked on the bright side of life in all his undertakings. He was kind and generous hearted and universally esteemed by all who knew him. Throughout his illness, cheerfulness and patience were dominant characteristics.

Dr. Allison is survived by his wife, three sons, Ed and Dr. Tom Allison of Winfield, Frank Allison of Wakou, Canada and two daughters, Mrs. Morgan Wood and Mrs. Roy Wood, of Winfield.

The body will be brought to Winfield for burial and will arrive Saturday evening on Santa Fe No. 18.

The funeral arrangements will not be made until word is received from the son in Canada.
