Harrison Hotel

A guest poses in front of the Harrison Hotel, 1266 Jackson St., in the early 1920’s. During this period the Harrison was considered one of the best places to stay in Dubuque. Philip Harrison Lochner and wife, Mary, bought the hotel in 1909 joined by the daughter in law, Mary Francis (Schaffer) Lochner, they managed the facility as a rooming and boarding house until the late 1930’s. Lunch cost 25 cents and included two meats and three vegetables.
