Alwin P. Stottmeister, 87, of Forked River, NJ passed away on Monday Feb. 23, 2009, at Southern Ocean Center, Manahawkin. Mr. Stottmeister was born in Jersey City and had lived in Caldwell, and West Caldwell, before moving to Forked River in 1997. He had graduated from Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute and did graduate work at Rensselear Polytechnic Institute, Troy, NY. He was a Chemical Engineer for CPC of Lyndhurst, for 35 years, before retiring. He was a former member of the Old Guard of Forked River Chapter #19 and the First Presbyterian Church in Caldwell. He was a member of the Lapidary Club and was an avid square dancer.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Margaret (nee Vogel); two sons, Henry of Rockville, MD, And Walter of West Caldwell and two grandchildren, Stacy and Justin.
