There is question that Levi M White is the bio father of Williard White. In 1870 Levi is living with his mother on the family farm in Le Claire, Scott Co, IA. Marie is living in MI. She probably was still using White as her last name and that is why Williard's last name is White. There is evidence that Levi and his brothers John Edward and James went to northern Kansas using Homestead patents from their service in the Civil War. There is no evidence that Levi was in MI.
Levi's grave in Topeka, KS has no stone. But the photo shows the area where he is buried by a red flower. Plot NS4 site 8
