Mr. Snyder was born Aug. 6, 1951, at Clay Center, the son of Max Gordon Sr. and Mildred (Mapes) Snyder.
He grew up in Clay Center and graduated from Clay Center Community High School in 1970. He married Margaret Brownfield-Long on Oct. 15, 1994. He worked for the Clay Center Public Utilities retiring in 1995. He was an avid fisherman, woodworker and HAM radio operator and also raised registered dachshunds. He was a member of the Clay Center HAM Radio Club. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Tom Snyder.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Snyder of Clay Center; two stepdaughters, Kellie Bryan and husband Kenny of Hoyt and Barbara Brown and husband Jeff of Topeka; two brothers, Bill Snyder of Clay Center and Kelly Snyder and wife Barb of Clay Center; one sister, Bonnie Jean Trumpp of Douglass; his stepmother Deborah Snyder of Clay Center;four step grandchildren; and three step great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, at the Neill-Schwensen-Rook Chapel in Clay Center, KS 67432
There will be no visition.
Memorials may be made to Meadowlark Hospice in care of the funeral home.
