Minerva D. was born in 1838 in Alabama. She married James "Jim" M. Cheser.

James "Jim" M. Cheser appears by himself in the 1860 Tuscaloosa County, Alabama Census. He reappears in the Cooke County, Texas Tax Assessment records for the years 1865, 1868, 1869 and 1870. Thus, I think it is likely that they gave birth to their daughter, Priscilla in Cooke County, Texas. I have not yet located a marriage record for this couple.

It is as yet unknown what happened to Minerva but James "Jim" M. Cheser relocated to Montague County, Texas where he was one of the original land owners in that area. He appears in the 1880 Montague County, Texas Census with what may be his third wife, Francis E. White.

James "Jim" M. Cheser married Francis E. White, the widow of John H. Keith, on August 16th 1873.

There is a J. M. Cheser who married an L. A. Taylor on November 10th of 1872 in Mclennan County, Texas but it is unknown if this is the same man.

Regardless, this places a date of death for Minerva as some time post 1866.
