Ada - Funeral services for VIVIAN SMITH COLEY, 85, Ada, are 10:30 a.m. Friday at Criswell Funeral Chapel, Rev. Joe Howry officiating. Burial follows at Oakman Cemetery.
She died May 24, 2006, at a local nursing home. She was born Feb. 27, 1921, in Pontotoc County, to Frank and Melissa Abbott Phillips. She attended school at Union Hill, Vanoss and Byng, and lived in this area all her life. She graduated from Licensed Practical Nursing School at Valley View Regional Hospital, as a member of the first graduating class, in 1958. She was a nurse at Valley View and later at South Community Hospital, Oklahoma City, retiring in 1980. She was affiliated with the Church of Christ.
She married E.L. "Shorty" Smith, and later married Thomas L. Coley.
Survivors include three daughters, Binnie Wilson of Ada, Catherine Smith and Demoine Anderson, both of Francis, Okla.; six grand-children, Jeff Wilson of Ada, Daryl Wilson of Fort Myers, Fla., Margie Shaw and Melissa Rice, both of Francis, Jennifer Jussely of Stratford, and Michelle Wilson of Jacksonville, Fla.; 13 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
