Merwin Lloyd "Rocky" Rockford, 80, of North Sioux City died peacefully Thursday, May 21, 2015, at his residence surrounded by family.
At Rocky's request, there will be no services. Arrangements were under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.
Rocky was born Nov. 20, 1934 in Stuart, Neb., the son of Wilhelm Rockford and Leona (Gilman) Rockford.

He was married to Ellinor "Verni" Abbott-Eblen, and then later to Shirley Porter.
Rocky is survived by his five children, Carlene (Ed) Garwacki of Ohio, Ray (Karen) Eblen of Salix, Iowa, Nora (Paul) Walker of Arizona, Darla (Bill) Rhein of Omaha, and Bryan Rockford of Columbus, Neb.; and five stepchildren and their spouses.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Shirley; and siblings.
The family sincerely wishes to thank Hospice of Siouxland for all their help and support during Rocky's final days. A huge thank you to Ernie Porter for his loving care and devotion to Rocky so he could remain in his home surrounded by family and love ones.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made on his behalf to Hospice of Siouxland.
