Jane listed as widow and the head of her own household on the 1860 census in Fannin Co., TX. The Fannin Court Records March 1859 Jane was given legal guardianship of their remaining minor children. All of Milton and Jane’s children stayed in Texas with the exception of eldest son Clispy. He did not move to Texas with the family.
