Served with the 71st NY Infantry Regiment, in the position of Battalion Sergeant Major, on the Mexican border, in 1916. Oct. 24, 1917, assigned to Company B, 105th Machine Gun Battalion, 27th Division. March 28, 1918 assigned to Quartermaster Corps Detachment, Camp Wadsworth, SC, in the position of Sergeant Major. Transferred , Sept 4,, 1918, to Headquarters Company, 62th Pioneer Infantry. Discharged from the service, Dec. 29, 1918.
